Faculty and staff at the Center for Science and Mathematics Education promote science and mathematics education in surrounding schools and communities by:
Sharing science and mathematics resources and expertise
Coordinating formal and informal workshops for teachers and informal education professionals
Facilitate science activities at local schools for future student teachers
Obtaining external funding for teacher enhancement and science teaching research
Promoting participation on the state level in curriculum, certification and teacher performance activities
Organizing and hosting events such as state Science Olympiad and regional Science Fair
Assisting with field trips to WSU's Ott Planetarium and Museum of Natural Science
Reaching out to the local community with programs like Science in the Parks, Science Moms, Taking Science to the Schools (Ottreach)

University Science Educator of the year by Utah Science Teachers
